Hair, the most natural and beautiful decoration of human beings, is mostly exposed to our environmental pollution. Hair is like the fur of an animal; you can see whether or not a human being feels well. Hair grows out of the body and is supplied with nutrients through our blood. So everything we eat and drink also gets into our hair. Not only each medicine, each special diet, each disease, but also any indisposition is recognizable in the hair. (Those who only eat hamburgers will have the respective hair look on their head).
Our skin is our largest excretory organ and our scalp, the ground of hair, is one of the most important parts. Every human being excretes up to 1 to 1 ½ litres of sweat every night. The water evaporates and the residues are salts remaining on our scalp. Therefore it is very important to brush our hair in the morning, as the salts extract the moisture from hair and scalp. This results in a dry scalp, dandruff, dry and breaking hair. Take care to use a natural bristle hairbrush. Hair care does not include plastic brushes.
Hair consist of 3 basic layers
- the interior medulla layer
- wrapped by a fibre layer
- the exterior dandruff layer
Each of these layers has a certain meaning.
The dandruff layer is a protective layer for hair; in Middle Europe it has got 6 tile-shaped horn lamellas lying one above the other. In Asia there are e.g. 15 to 16 layers, therefore Asian hair looks thicker.
If hair is moist enough in its medulla layer and fibre layer, the dandruff layer is created and the hair shines. If hair becomes dry, the little flakes stick out, and the hair has a voluminous and dry effect. If now a wrong brush or a bad comb is used, these little flakes will tear off, and the hair will get split ends or break.
A more important factor is however the sun and the general climate. High ozone values will damage our hair to the most extent. You may certainly imagine that if the little flakes stick out from hair, oxygen will get into the hair, the sun will additionally bleach the hair, no hair colour will keep, and the hair will dry out from inside. As a result the hair will be dull, tousled, and brittle.
What can we do against it?
First of all, brush your hair well, always start from the hairline so that the dandruff layer gets closed. The best will be to use a brush made of natural bristles. The brush must not be cut, it must be of natural style.
Our motto is natural bristle for natural hair.
After that, take care which shampoo you are using.
Do never forget, less is more.
Normally shampoo dries out hair, therefore it is important to sour the hair with astringent so that the dandruff layer gets closed again.
Remember, in-between hair needs some moisture therapy so that the fibre layer stays elastic.
Without elasticity no lasting hairstyle. You may find out yourself the necessity of a moisture therapy. Carry out the brush or comb test.
- First brush your hair entirely smooth, comb your hair until the comb goes through the hair quite easily, and now the little flakes are tight on your hair.
- Then shake your head heavily and comb again. If ever your hair needs moisture, the comb will get stuck somewhere between hairline and tips. That is a sign for your hair being too dry.
- Now you must do something about it quickly, otherwise your hair will become dryer and dryer and break.
There is something else you should know: the dryer your hair, the slower is regeneration.
You can compare it to a dry plant, the dryer it is, the less water it can absorb. It has to be watered in short intervals, and the same applies to your hair – it also needs regular care.
